    Description
    Patient Safety and Governance Lead - Surgical Division

    Cross Site working with a main base in Basingstoke, Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust


    We are looking for an experienced and dedicated individual to lead our governance and safety agenda for our team within the Surgical Division .


    The Surgical Division encompasses many areas including:

    Theatres & Anaesthetics, Orthopaedics, Surgery, Head and Neck, Cancer Services, Critical Care, PMI and all of the supporting structures required for these services.

    This role requires the provision of robust governance leadership, ensuring that the Division provides high quality services and is fully compliant with all regulatory requirements to deliver strong quality governance, in support of the Divisional Chief Nurse and Divisional Medical Director.

    An expert or professional clinical leader, passionate about risk and quality governance.
    Broad quality governance understanding and experience to ensure breadth of knowledge enabling resourcefulness, resilience and leadership.

    Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester and Andover War Memorial Hospital.

    Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides medical and surgical services to a population of approximately 600,000 people across Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire.

    We provide specialist services to people across the UK and internationally.

    We are one of only two centres in the UK treating pseudomyxoma peritonei (a rare form of abdominal cancer) and we are leaders in the field of tertiary liver cancer and colorectal cancer.

    As a Foundation Trust, we are directly accountable to our members through the governors. The Council of Governors represent the interests of their constituencies and influence the future plans of the Foundation Trust.
    Evidence of undertaking senior/lead roles dealing with risk management, quality of care or patient safety issues
    Evidence of undertaking extensive investigation and Root Cause Analysis
    Specialist knowledge of all stages of the governance cycle .In depth specialist knowledge of NHS clinical governance strategy, policy and current issues
    Knowledge of quality improvement methods and techniques

    Experience in teaching Investigator Training

    Excellent report writing, IT and verbal communication skills
    Organised with good time management skills and able to work to tight deadlines and cope under pressure
