    Description

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of a small well-established Colorectal Cancer CNS Team in a friendly and supportive work environment.

    The post holder will be part of a dynamic team playing a pivotal role in leading and delivering the colorectal cancer service and will be a key member of the team in delivering high quality patient care.

    The successful candidate would be working as part of the wider colorectal multi-disciplinary team within the Surgical and Cancer directorate.

    It is a busy, friendly, team who are passionate and committed to the care of colorectal cancer patients in order to provide a prompt and seamless service.

    The role of the colorectal cancer CNS includes providing information, advice and support for colorectal cancer patients, and those close to them, at all stages of their disease, including pre and post any surgical intervention, which may include stoma formation, and during oncology treatment.

    We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated candidate who can demonstrate the appropriate knowledge and skills to join our team, where we are committed to ensuring that patients are at the centre of our service.

    Essential Requirements Are RGN with a degree is required or working towards is required. Oncology experience is desirable. A knowledge of colorectal surgery is desirable. You must have excellent communication skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

    The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to practice autonomously and demonstrate an advanced level of knowledge in relation to the care of colorectal patients.

    The post holder will run nurse led clinics, provide ward based education and facilitate effective health care delivery.

    Leadership, innovation, motivation and excellent communication skills are essential as is the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

    The ability to be flexible and organised in the workplace with a passion for delivering a quality and successful service is essential.

    We work collaboratively with the BRI Colorectal CNS Team to maintain high standards of practice and positive patient experiences, there may be some cross site working required for this role.
