    Description

    We are currently looking for an experienced Head of Procurement to support the Group Director of Finance t to provide a centralised procurement service to the New City College Group ensuring proper standards of probity and value for money. You will be accountable for ensuring all procurement action carried out by the College Group conforms to the college financial regulations and public procurement procedures.

    You will inform and advise managers and other college staff as required on procurement policies and procedures, sources of supply and provide assistance and support to all managers in issuing invitations to tender via E-tendering portal, dealing with clarifications, evaluate and report on tenders returned, sending successful/un-successful notification letters.

    CIPS qualified or proven experience in a similar role and able to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.

    As the College supports a number of children and vulnerable adults, all staff are exempt from Section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Accordingly, all staff will be subject to an 'Enhanced' DBS (formerly CRB) check, along with a Children's Barred List check if in regulated activity. Any offers of appointment may be withdrawn if these checks prove to be unsatisfactory to the College. Self-disclosure will be required as part of the recruitment process. If you fail to make a full disclosure or provide sight of your DBS certificate then your offer of employment is likely to be withdrawn. The College's DBS policy covers the recruitment of ex-offenders which is available upon request.
