Project Manager - Crewe, Cheshire, United Kingdom - Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

    Default job background
    Description

If you are an enthusiastic and self-motivated Project Manager who enjoys a challenge, can demonstrate design, construction and strategic project experience, ideally with architectural experience, and are looking for a varied and fulfilling role, then we are looking for you to join us.

This vacancy is specifically for a Capital Project Manager with an electrical background.

Key for us are individuals with a passion for delivering excellence, with a high level of communication skills, and solid project management experience gained in an Estates or Construction industry setting.

With a competitive salary, aligned with a superb benefits package, including NHS Pension, great Annual Leave entitlements and the chance to gain further qualifications, these opportunities could represent a fantastic move for you with the security of long term tenure and an inclusive and friendly working environment.

There has never been a better time to join the Estates and Facilities Department at Mid Cheshire Hospital, with a significant capital programme, a new theatre build underway at Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and ambitious plans for a complete multi million hospital re-development in progress at our main site in Crewe.

This scheme will ensure that we can provide state of the art Healthcare Facilities into the future.

Reporting to a Senior Capital Project Manager, you will be responsible for the building design and management of construction projects, taking lead responsibility as directed.

You will integrate with all sections of the Estates and Facilities Division and liaise with Trust staff and project professionals.

As one of our Estates Project Managers you will have the opportunity to manage a diverse range of projects, large to small, and be involved in the process from initial design phase through to completion.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond.

The Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and became a Foundation Trust in April 2008.

We employ almost 5,000 members of staff, provide around 540 hospital beds, with a range of services including accident and emergency, maternity, outpatients, therapies, and children's health.

The Trust is also part of Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP), a unique local health partnership that provides a range of community services for people across South Cheshire and Vale Royal.

The results in the 2020 national NHS Staff Survey showed improvements in all elements of the safety culture theme, with 92% of respondents feeling their role made a difference to our patients.

We were also recognised nationally for our workforce health and wellbeing initiatives.

At Mid Cheshire, we value our staff and appreciate that in order to give our patients the best quality, compassionate care, we also need to look after our colleagues.

We have a great Estates team delivering a full range of services relating to building, engineering and refurbishment works as part of the Trusts Capital Programme.

Assist with the full range of duties in the implementation of building and engineering works as part of the Trusts Capital Programme.

Assist the Head of Capital Development and Estates Manager Higher Level (Capital Projects) on major projects, taking lead responsibility as directed.

Prepare/oversee designs for project works in accordance with NHS Health Technical Memorandum (HTMs) and Health Building Notes (HBNs), British Standards and all current legislation.

Take the technical lead on identified issues related to the management of Estates, Building and Engineering works and providing accurate up to date advice as required.

Develop and maintain systems and processes to promote a healthy, safe and secure working environment, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate documentation and reporting any concerns.

Communicate estates policy, technical information to senior managers, high level negotiations with contractors, consultant parties, local authority officers and other bodies.

Act as Project Lead and oversee staff/consultants within the projects team. Appoint, manage and monitor external consultants and contractors.

Be responsible for day-to-day supervision, checking and evaluating work of capital projects, assisting the Estates Manager Higher Level (Projects) in ensuring these are correctly supervised (in terms of construction work) on site.

Undertake/commission a range of estates condition surveys and audits in specialist areas such as asbestos, town and country planning.
