Plural is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Research Associate to join our growing team.The successful candidate will support our team of experienced founders-turned-investors by conducting analytical, research-led dives within technology sectors to help deepen our thinking.
Plural is an early-stage venture capital platform set up by founders and operators to back the most ambitious founders on a mission to change the world through technology.
Our aim is to create globally successful tech companies and bend the trajectories of the startups we back by providing founders with world-class operational support and long-term thinking.
We believe that tech companies can have GDP-level impact on Europe and support the companies we invest in to achieve that.
Conducting deep dives on varied tech sector verticals (to assist with originating new investment opportunities)~ Identify and analyze emerging industry trends and market opportunities, leveraging both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Perform detailed company research to assess potential investment opportunities, focusing on financial health, strategic positioning, and market potential.
~ Keeping abreast of macro developments in the technology industry and providing updates to the team
~ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and maintaining focus under tight deadlines
~ As needed, manage and work with external subject matter experts to help with work in specific sector verticals
~(A Bachelor's degree, MSc, or PhD in a relevant field.
Ideally 3 years experience in a research or analytical role, ideally within management consulting or a related field.
Ability to use qualitative and quantitative research methods appropriate for a given task
Experience with financial modeling and data analysis techniques.
Familiarity with the technology industry and emerging trends
Spending some years in management consultancy, with academic experience, is a plus but expect that we operate on much faster cycles to summarise and present your work.
If you are a self-starter who wants to identify new technologies that can have a GDP-level impact in Europe, with the courage to test unconventional ideas and contribute to a great, existing team spirit - we want to talk.
For candidates further in the process we also expect you to prepare some at-home, concise, illustrative research.
