    The Vacancy

    We are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager within our Actuarial Public (APU) Business Unit (BU). Reporting to the Operations Lead, you will be responsible for providing support with the business and operational management of the APU BU.

    What will your role look like?

  • Supporting with the management of absence across the business unit to ensure sufficient cover
  • People management within PA and operational support team
  • Resource allocation across PA and operational support team ensuring availability and alignment with BU requirements.
  • Supporting the Operations Lead with internal self-audits to ensure compliance as required, ensuring audit actions are carried out on time and reporting into the relevant groups.
  • Being the nominated Risk Champion within the BU, assisting in the effective management and implementation of our firmwide Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Increasing awareness, ownership and management of risks within the BU leading to improved business performance, delivering training updates as required.
  • Supporting with the identification, management and reporting of risk for the APU BU.
  • Management of the BU risk register and controls, providing ongoing support to risk and control owners
  • Championing the standards set out in the Risk Management Framework (RMF) within APU BU, increasing and maintaining adherence to the risk management process to contribute to the continuous improvement of risk management within the firm and further improve the risk culture.
  • Oversee AML processes within the BU ensuring these are kept up to date with regulatory requirements
  • Supporting on reporting requirements for Operations Lead
  • Supporting the Firm's Strategic imperatives
  • Working with Operations Lead, manage the quarterly process for Business Planning owners to update OKRs
  • Adherence to the firm's Information Security standards, policies and procedures is expected.

    • Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educated to Scottish Higher or equivalent level in English, or with equivalent experience.
  • Proficient across full Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience of a successful track record in operations management, preferably gained in a financial or professional services environment
