Description
Account Director - Politics, Engagement & Planning
At LCA we operate in a dynamic and fast paced environment, constantly pushing ourselves, challenging each other and learning as we go along – not one day is ever the same. And we like it that way
Within LCA, you would be joining the PEP division:
About the role
Leading and driving your accounts, as an Account Director you are the key contact point for clients. You will advise them directly on the strategy on the project, leading meetings and be accessible 24/7. You'll oversee the work of both the Account Manager and Account Executive, bringing in the Director when required and have a real passion for your work.
Client work:
· Working closely and to the Director, you will lead and provide strategic direction to your accounts. You will use initiative and be proactive to ensure work and results are delivered for our clients.
· You will be the key contact point for clients, advising them directly, leading meetings and being accessible 24/7. You will be responsible for bringing Directors in at key points to review materials and provide strategic insight.
· Reviewing and editing written materials, over-seeing the drafting of others. This means working closely with Account Managers and Account Executives to produce error-free written materials. You will have ultimate responsibility for quality control and will frequently be closer to the design elements of planning proposals than anyone else in the team.
· Ensuring monitoring and intelligence captured by Account Executives and Account Managers is being shared with the client in a timely way.
· Doing a share of staffing consultation events – exhibitions, workshops, virtual webinars etc., where senior input is needed, including during evenings and at weekends on occasion.
· Providing essential oversight on all elements of a planning project, from consultation materials, political engagement, exhibition logistics and media management.
· Being accountable for all deliverables from the AEs and AMs.
· Working with the Director to ensure your accounts are being resourced in the most effective way.
Management:
· Managing, motivating and mentoring team members, especially Account Managers and Account Executives who will be working closely with you and looking for guidance.
· Appraising at last one Account Executive and helping develop and up-skill them
· Providing mentoring (outside the formal appraisal system) for a junior member of the team. This might be another Account Executive or a recently promoted Account Manager if you are an Associate Director.
Corporate & financial:
· As an Account Director we recognise that you will now take on other responsibilities alongside your client work. This will include appraisals and being more actively involved in new business.
· Acting as a senior 'sounding board' for Directors and Board Directors.
New business, networking & contacts:
· Being regularly involved in new business, proactively identifying opportunities and network. Leading on drafting new business proposals with Directors ensuring they are to a high standard and need minimal review, contributing to and attending pitches whenever needed.
· Fostering and developing strong relationships with clients and associates. Proactively organising coffees or catch-ups with key contacts and attending networking events with Directors when needed.
· Dealing confidently with senior individuals in the private and public sectors, and become a positive advocate and spokesperson for the company.
