    The Central Rail Systems Alliance is formed by partners Network Rail, Balfour Beatty, Atkins and TSO. The CRSA is responsible for the delivery of multi-disciplinary railway upgrade projects on the North West & Central and Eastern regions of Network Rail's recently devolved routes. The programme of works delivered by the teams is valued at £2bn and manages the development, design and delivery of Switches and Crossings and Plain Line renewals as its core business but is also responsible for the delivery of major enhancement projects.

    We undertake projects from feasibility through to detailed design and construction management. Our engineers are skilled in the design of projects.

    We are looking to recruit a Document Controller to join our Central Rail Systems Alliance team. The role will be based in one of our vibrant design offices, in either Derby, Birmingham, Crewe or Manchester. Our teams regularly enjoy the benefits of hybrid working to enhance their work life balance.

    As a Document Controller, within the CRSA, you will work as part of one of our busy document control teams assisting Project Managers, Engineering Managers and their teams with design deliverables. This will require exceptional organisational and communication skills to enable the team to deliver to plan. Prolonged use of the various HDMS systems will enable you to deliver, along with supporting and training the team as you go.

    A pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening will be required, as Atkins may put you forward for Personal Track Safety training after a successful probation period.

    Qualifications:

  • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Essential:

  • Knowledegable in Microsoft Word.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Able to work calmly but proficiently within tight deadlines.
  • Be familiar with the design stage process.
  • Familiarise yourself, and be compliant with, the HDMS processes and audit requirements.
  • Accurately assess and interpret information received.
  • Work flexibly.
  • Adapt with enthusiasm and a 'can-do' attitude.
  • Support the wider team with their document control requirements and share knowledge.
  • Able to act with initiative and to take responsibility.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to express ideas, concerns, solutions, suggestions in written or oral form.
  • Experience working in ProjectWise.
  • Familiarisation of the Rail industry in the UK.
