    All Africa Capital is looking to develop market leading experiences in mortgages, savings, and current accounts.

    We are seeking Technical Writers to lead the documentation of technical development for the Bank.

    The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and writing various types of user documentation, including how-to guides, manuals, references, or instructions.

    This candidate should have strong communication skills which enable them to explain complicated concepts in a simple manner. This individual will also collaborate with engineers, developers and other technical specialists in order to understand required content.


    Salary:

    up to £40,000ResponsibilitiesCreating clear and concise material, taking care of editing and proofreading tasksUpdating and maintaining a library of technical terminology and documentationRevising or rewriting existing technical literatureResearching and gathering technical information and studying target audiencesTesting whether users understand newly developed materialWorking closely together with printers, illustrators, graphic designers, translators and other relevant professionalsStaying up to date with the latest trends and developments in the industryProducing electronic documentation in addition to hard copy manualsLead by exampleLead the technical documentation and requirements to achieve regulatory complianceCollaborate with product teamsCollaborating with engineers, developers and other technical specialists to ensure that they understand the subjectElevate product at the BankProactively and independently identify areas of opportunity for analysisNavigate the Bank environment and communityExplore large, complex, and loosely defined datasets to create actionable insightsCollaborate with the engineering teams to improve infrastructure, models and processesIdentify opportunities to create efficiencies in team processes and tooling, including enabling other teams to self-serve on product managementDemonstrate the Bank's values on a daily basisOperate in an iterative mindset, focused on delivering improvements and value at high velocityDocument every action in either an issue, MR, the handbook, or READMEs so analyses and findings are discoverable, following the culture of handbook first.

    Key knowledge and QualificationsProven working experience in technical writing of software documentationAbility to deliver high quality documentation paying close attention to detailAbility to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and picturesExcellent written skills in EnglishStrong working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeBasic familiarity with the SDLC and software developmentUniversity degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferredFamiliarity with Jira and the XRAY plug inAbility to write user-friendly, engaging copy about highly technical subjectsAbility to understand and accurately translate technical information for a general audienceKnowledge of coding and scripting languages, such as C++, Python, HTML, CSS, and JavaScriptFamiliarity with content and learning management systems (CMS and LMS)Familiarity with documentation publishing software, such as MadCap, RoboHelp, or WikisExcellent problem-solving skillsAbility to effectively use of analytics to improve user-facing content and applicant programming interface (API)Past use of Agile/Scrum or similar collaborative tools a plus
