    Description

    Our partner, VANRATH, is working with a valued client to fill a key role within their Belfast team. This renowned 'Tech for Good' company is seeking an experienced and driven Engineering Manager to join their established team in Belfast. As the Software Engineering Manager, you will collaborate across departments and sites, promoting quality and innovation among Engineers and the wider team.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead cross-functional engineering teams, providing guidance and support
    • Ensure team compliance with development processes and standards
    • Introduce new tools and processes to improve quality and efficiency
    • Set technical standards and promote lean development
    • Drive continuous improvement and testability in design
    • Maintain quality, reliability, and security of features
    • Foster communication and collaboration, guiding technical milestones
    • Coordinate activities for shared success
    • Cultivate a culture of engineering leadership and innovation

    Essential Criteria:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
    • 8+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in management
    • Proficiency in C# .NET or Java, SQL Server or Oracle, and JavaScript Frameworks
    • Minimum of 2 years in Agile/Lean environment
    • Familiarity with modern technologies and software design
    • Understanding of Lean/Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps practices
    • Web application development and distributed environments experience

    Highly Desirable:

    • Cloud environment experience (e.g., Azure or AWS)
    • Knowledge of QA tools and test automation
    • Familiarity with Behavior/Test Driven development
    • Exposure to UI technologies like JavaScript, Angular, and containerization
    • Experience in database development
