    Senior Legal Counsel - Insurance - Fixed Term Contract

    Role: 10-12 Month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover)

    Location: London

    Salary: Competitive + Bonus + Benefits

    WFH: Hybrid Working Model (2 days per week office-based)

    Reporting to: Legal Director

    Direct Reports: 2 Direct reports

    About the role:

    12-month maternity cover post with a leading Insurance Broker, working in a small team of 3. In this role, you will offer legal advice and support to manage legal risk within the company.

    Role Responsibilities:

    • Offer efficient legal advice to manage legal risk within the business.
    • Stay updated on current laws, regulations, and practices in all areas affecting the business.
    • Prepare, review, and negotiate various commercial legal agreements on behalf of the company.
    • Ensure awareness of any changes in legislation, regulations, and guidelines.
    • Identify and control all legal risks across the business, including new projects and procedures.
    • Adhere to all external rules and requirements.

    Skills and experience required:

    • UK-qualified Solicitor or similar.
    • Minimum 8 years of relevant PQE, preferably in the insurance industry.
    • Previous broking experience would be advantageous.
    • Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape in the UK.
    • Proven project and transaction management skills.
    • Demonstrated commercial skills and ability to add value within an in-house setting.
    • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
