    Band 7 Health Promotion Lead - London, United Kingdom - Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust

    We are advertising a new and exciting 12 month fixed term role as a Band 7 Health Promotion Lead within the Royal Free Hospital London NHS Foundation Trust Breast Screening Service, based within our Edgware Community Hospital site but working also on occasions at our service based at St. Bartholomew Hospital in the City of London.

    This role will be part of a newly created team consisting of a Band 5 Health Promotion Support Officer and a Band 3 Administration Officer. The post is open to a broad range of potential candidates, experience could come from a nursing or administrative background.

    Main duties of the job The Royal Free Breast Screening Group consists of two clinical services, the Central and East London Breast Screening Service (CELBSS) and the North London Breast Screening Service (NLBSS), both are part of the National Health Service Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP) and has a large and diverse population of over 415,000 eligible women.

    This role, working cross site, both at the NLBSS base within the Edgware Community Hospital Site and the CELBSS base, within the St. Bartholomew Hospital Site, will be responsible for encouraging and improving uptake within breast screening, alongside reducing health inequalities in the eligible screening population.

    Support will focus on the NLBSS areas of Brent, Harrow, Barnet, Enfield, Haringey and West Hertfordshire and the CELBSS areas of Camden & Islington, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest and Hackney & The City of London. Targeting lower uptake boroughs, ensuring up to date breast screening data is available and working with a range of stakeholders across the system all sharing the same goal of improving breast screening uptake and attendance whilst reducing health inequalities.     • Degree level qualification in relevant field/ equivalent experience
    • Portfolio of continuing personal development

    • Qualification in Health Promotion (or equivalent)
    • Management qualification
    Experience Essential
    • Substantial experience of working in, or with the NHS, facilitating change to improve care or health outcomes
    • Experience of behavior change techniques, focusing on best practice guidelines and evidence of effectiveness
    • Demonstrative experience of staff management and leading a team
    • Experience of assessing the evidence base and using a range of tools to assess and respond to the health needs of service users to inform programme/service development
    • Experience of developing strategies and implementing policy to facilitate and achieve change in health care practice
    • Proven change management skills
    • Experience of managing and mitigating risks
    Desirable
    • Experience of collaborating with local community services and primary care
    Skills and Knowledge Essential
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Knowledge and understanding of the NHS and current policies and strategies relating to health improvement
    • Up to date knowledge of treatment protocols and procedures for lifestyle services
    • Specialist knowledge of current issues in breast screening
    • Numerate, with excellent analytical skills/ability to understand and produce statistical information to use in problem solving Knowledge of data collection and monitoring systems. Ability to analyse and interpret highly complex data, facts or situations
