    Our client is a professional software solution company for Project Managers working in the construction sector. Utilising their knowledge of construction compliance processes, alongside a digital platform, they pride themselves in offering dedicated process driven solutions to their clients.

    We are looking for a Business Development Manager, based in Bridgwater, to join this established business in sourcing profitable new business. We are currently searching for an experienced BDM with B2B sales experience to join the team, someone with the skills to help drive sales in a consultative manner.

    About the Role

    Purpose of the role:

    We are looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) responsible for driving the growth of the business.

    The ideal candidate will be able to create development plans and forecast sales targets and growth projections. They will Identify market opportunities through meetings, networking and other channels.

    The Candidate:

    We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth and expansion initiatives for our company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and developing strategic partnerships to fuel revenue growth.

    The BDM will work with other department heads to establish project milestones and work to complete projects effectively and within the budget.

    Responsibilities

    • Identify new business opportunities through market research, networking, and outreach efforts, to identify new clients, new partnerships or new products and services.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs and providing solutions to meet those needs.
    • Create and execute strategic plans to penetrate new markets and expand the company's customer base.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support for business development initiatives.
    • Negotiate and close business deals to new and existing clients that align with the company's objectives and financial targets
    • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
    • Prepare and present regular reports and updates to senior management on business development activities, progress, and results.
    • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
    • Building relationships with new clients, gauging their needs and developing proposals to address these needs
    • Attending conferences and events to build relationships with industry partners
    • Creating sales forecasts and actively working towards reaching them
    • Possessing a strong understanding of the company's products
    • Managing and training a business development team

    Key Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
    • Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or related roles.
    • Strong understanding of sales principles, negotiation techniques, and business acumen.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and colleagues.
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective business plans.
    • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a high level of initiative and drive.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software
    • A digital native who is adaptable and tech savvy.

    Experience:

    • 3 years minimum experience in a BDM role
    • Proven track record in Sales and converting leads

    Qualifications:

    Degree in Business, Business Administration, Marketing or similar, or related field (not essential)
