    Teacher of Health and Food Technology/Practical Cooking (0.4 FTE)

    Permanent (subject to a probationary period)
    Salary: £41,052 per year pro rata

    Dunedin is a small, independent secondary school providing an exceptional learning environment which offers young people a 'second chance' at education.

    Our pupils have usually had a difficult journey before they come to us, and most have not been able to thrive in a mainstream setting.With a sensitive, nurturing and supportive approach, we aim to remove barriers in order to help our young people regain a sense of enjoyment in learning, reignite aspiration in them, and rediscover a sense of self-belief.

    As our HFT and practical cooking teacher, you will join our hard-working and committed team to help our young people develop essential cooking skills and foster their creativity in the kitchen, as well as gain qualifications where appropriate.Whether you are at the start of your career, or you are already highly experienced; whether you are looking for part-time hours, or looking to augment hours, Dunedin can offer the right candidate a learning and teaching environment where you will have autonomy in your department, alongside opportunities to develop leadership skills as part of the collaborative management of the school as a whole.

    All teachers must be registered with The General Teaching Council for Scotland.
    This post is considered Regulated Work under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007, and successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment.
