- Take ownership of health & safety.
- Update or develop relevant H&S policies and processes.
- Conduct and update risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and lead accident investigations.
- Oversee and develop environmental policies.
- Ensure accurate reporting of packaging waste.
- Work towards obtaining ISO 14001 accreditation.
- Stay informed about relevant legislation affecting the business.
- Develop and maintain quality systems, processes, and policies (ISO 9001, FSC).
- Evaluate benefits of additional accreditations.
- Make recommendations for improvements and required resources.
- Ensure up-to-date training records.
- Develop and maintain skills matrices.
- Document training requirements.
- Collaborate with external suppliers for policy development.
- Liaise with external agencies (e.g., Health & Safety Executive, Environment agency).
- Periodically review performance for cost reduction and efficiency opportunities.
- Assist in presenting reports to senior executives and stakeholders.
- Handle ad hoc tasks, including facilities management.
- Significant experience in managing health & safety.
- Demonstrable continuous improvement attitude.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter with a 'can-do' attitude.
- Team player with excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
