    Main duties of the job

    Thesuccessful applicant will support the practice nursing and administrative teamsin the delivery of clinical and administrative services, working as part of thepractices multi-disciplinary team, delivering care within their scope ofpractice to the patient population.

    Working with our large nursing team, you willassist in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion andpatient education.

    We focus oninnovation, excellence, and inclusivity, and are looking for a healthcare assistant to join our small, friendly, and experienced nursing team.

    Job description

    Job responsibilities

    Thefollowing are the core responsibilities of the Healthcare Assistant. There maybe, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependentupon factors such as workload and staffing levels. Training provided if skillnot already achieved:

    a.Undertakevenepuncture

    b.Carryout BMI checks as directed

    c.Carryout baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperatureand pulse rate, recording findings accurately

    d.Facilitateroutine and 24-hour BP monitoring, advising patients accordingly

    e.UndertakeNHS Health Checks

    f.Carryout ECGs as requested

    g.Deliversmoking cessation where appropriate

    h.Ensurespecimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation

    i.Providesupport during coil and implant fittings as required

    j.Administerflu, B12, and pneumococcal vaccinations

    k.Undertakewound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required

    l.Carryout ear irrigation under the supervision of the practice nurse

    m. Support the practice nurses with themanagement of chronic disease clinics

    n.Supportthe delivery of the organisations long-term health condition reviews

    o.Ensureall clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session

    p.Ensurefridges are cleaned routinely in accordance with extant guidance

    q.Ensureclinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced inaccordance with the organisations IPC policy

    r.Deliveropportunistic health promotion where appropriate

    s.Supportthe practice nurse with health promotion programmes
