    What You'll Do

    The Area Director Manager will be responsible for leading all operations and providing overall vision, planning, direction, and execution in each city. They will hustle, execute, problem-solve and lead a growing food business in their region. They will be responsible for all operations and the success of the Reef Kitchens business in their market.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    • Leadership – Own a multi-million-dollar P&L, as well as metrics for growth, sales, quality, productivity, and efficiency. Lead a team of up to 150+ employees at scale, while ensuring a fun, rewarding, and inclusive work culture. Model key leadership behaviors and ensure the highest levels of safety, quality and service excellence for employees, partners, and consumers. Coach employees by creating a shared understanding about what needs to be achieved and how it is to be achieved. Reward and recognize employees. Identify and engage top talent and develop team members to their fullest potential within the organization. Plan and lead team management meetings. Ensure safety and sanitation standards in all operations.
    • Operational excellence – Ensure day-to-day operations follow established standards, uphold brand reputation and food quality, and deliver on business aspirations. Be willing to get your hands dirty and do what it takes to get the kitchens deployed and operating, including spending a significant amount of your time in the field. Ensure consistent application of operating standards and processes (Operational Excellence) with focus on efficiencies in food and labor productivity standards. Understand end to end supply chain and procurement process and systems; ensure only authorized suppliers are used.
    • Growth – Drive revenue growth through operational excellence in existing kitchens and by implementing sales growth initiatives, including city-level promotions and incentives, in coordination with the Central team. Work closely our Central and Launch teams to build and execute an expansion plan for your market, while at all times ensuring continuity and quality in existing operations.
    • Financial Performance – Build revenue and manage the city operating budget, including cost controls for food, beverage and labor. Oversee and deliver on company financial targets. Ensure adoption of all processes and systems. Understand performance metrics, data, order and inventory trends; educate teams on key levers to improve revenue and margins.
    • Hiring – Lead in-market recruiting efforts with support from central teams to ensure all roles are filled and future needs are fulfilled. Oversee, hiring, onboarding and training of all employees.
    • Compliance – Ensure unit managers maintain a safe and healthy environment for employees and consumers. Oversee compliance with all applicable policies, rules and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to safety, health, and labor.
    • Partnerships – Coordinate with Central business development teams to support third-party partnerships (restaurants and suppliers) in your city, including establishing and maintaining effective customer and partner support and retention activities.
    • Other duties as assigned and modified at manager's discretion.
    • Position is eligible an annual bonus of up to 25% of salary contingent upon meeting KPIs
    • Position manages a team of 3 to 7 Area Managers

    Responsibilities:

    • Experience scaling a consumer-service business and experience managing a P&L, with new restaurant or early stage food-tech startup launch experience preferred
    • Ability to independently translate high-level goals into actionable plans
    • Problem-solving and hustling mindset, ready to crack any challenge that comes your way
    • Unparalleled business judgement and critical thinking skills with the ability to use data to quickly establish highest value priorities and develop a strategy to pursue them
    • Experience working closely and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders in an ever-changing, rapid growth environment with tight deadlines
    • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to build relationships, lead a team, manage employees, and create a hard-working but fun workplace
    • Self-motivated, self-directed, and eager to take ownership of tasks to ensure solution
    • Excellent organization and time management skills
    • Clear and concise communicator with the ability to synthesize a lot of information quickly and highlight key insights
    • Demonstrated success leading large, distributed teams

    What We Want From You:

    • BA/BS degree in Business, Operations Management, Foodservice/Hospitality, or a related field
    • 8+ years of hands-on management experience, preferably in foodservice or hospitality
    • Experience scaling a consumer-service business and experience managing a P&L, with new restaurant or early stage food-tech startup launch experience preferred
