- You will be able to deal with complex systems and procedures and will be expected to offer advice on these, including deciding on the response to more complex queries.
- You will be expected to exercise your judgment on the answer to queries or on the direction of work within parameters set by your manager. On a day to day basis you will be expected to resolve more complex queries without necessarily referring to your manager.

The Institute of Clinical Sciences is one of eight Institutes in the College of Medical and Dental Sciences. The Institute co-ordinates teaching and student engagement activity, equips students with the skills to deliver outstanding healthcare and carry out life-changing medical research. It has a major role in the delivery of teaching a large undergraduate student base and a significant volume of postgraduate research and taught activity.
Duties include day-to-day management and administration of all non-research accounts, approval of requisitions and coordination of journals and recharges, handling of large numbers of non-pay expense claims (student claims), maintenance of records and audit trails to support sound budget management and audit compliance, including some first-line investigations and corrections.
The post-holder is a key contact in the Institute for compliance with University financial regulations, proactively identifying training needs and supporting education and compliance. The post-holder provides administrative leadership for the non-research contracts management process in the Institute.
Educated to A Level standard, or equivalent level 3 qualification such as a Level 3 NVQ, or level 3 national diploma or relevant work experience evidencing the skills and ability to undertake the role.
Minimum of grade C/4 in Mathematics and English at GCSE or equivalent. Experience of managing budgets and analysing data and of working in an administrative role in a fast-paced and complex environment. They will be able to work with a diverse range of stakeholders courteously, diplomatically and confidentially and will have excellent organisational and IT skills.
