    Managing Director, West Midlands, up to £100k + Bonus + Benefits

    My client is a Steel Stockholder & Processor, they are actively looking to recruit a proven and commercially driven Managing Director.

    Relevant Experience:

    • Experience of senior management position with profit and loss responsibility, ideally operating as a Managing Director or General Manager.
    • Working in a metal processing or manufacturing industry.
    • Experience of development and implementation of business strategies.
    • Proven track record of delivering growth.
    • Setting and controlling budgets.
    • Experience of managing a sales team – setting targets and driving performance.
    • Managing customer and supplier relationships.
    • Experience of negotiating with customers and suppliers, ideally with large corporate organisations.
    • An understanding of managing Health & Safety regulations
    • An understanding of manufacturing operations.

    Qualifications/ Training:

    • Formal management training qualifications.

    Special Knowledge:

    • Steel Industry is desirable, not essential.

    Disposition/ Attitude:

    • Shows clear integrity.
    • Understanding of how to develop and maintain high quality service.
    • High emotional intelligence being able to listen to divergent ideas.
    • 'Hands on' approach and prepared to cover any role or function as necessary.
    • Strong leader who is prepared to take tough decisions.
    • Shows an empathetic approach to employee management.
    • Ambitious for themselves and the business as a whole.
    • Positive and optimistic with the ability to sell a vision.
    • Quick learner and adaptable.
    • High tolerance for stress.
    • Competitive.
    • Entrepreneurial.

    Practical/ Intellectual:

    • A strong financial acumen, with the ability to interpret numbers and take appropriate actions.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    Desirable Criteria:

    • Experience of managing Health & Safety
    • Experience of managing operational processes.
    • Understanding of stockholding and distribution.
    • Supporting Qualifications.
    • Marketing experience.

    You must be UK based and live within a commutable distance of the where the position is located.
    Sponsorship is not available so you will need to have full leave to remain.
