    This is a great opportunity to join a business that is just about to kick off a project that will streamline the entire business and create an effective and future facing finance team to support the growth of this ambitious organisation. The business is looking for an ASSISTANT FINANCE BUSINESS PARTNER, based near Leicester. JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Assistant Finance Business Partner is a key part of a team responsible for a broad range of areas of financial reporting, this individual can take on a varied role with opportunities to develop and specialise in different areas of financial reporting. This individual will contribute to the preparation of the Group's monthly accounts and other internal financial reporting, plus can get involved in partnering with the businesses, variance reporting, input to budget and monthly reforecast as well as external financial reporting. RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Collaborative Support: Assist in building collaborative relationships with various business units, actively participating in cross-functional teams. Contribute to discussions on financial implications and provide support to business partners in understanding financial reports.
    • Data Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis to support business decisions. Utilise data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement. Collaborate with qualified finance partners to deliver actionable insights that contribute to the achievement of business objectives.
    • Communication Skills: Develop effective communication skills to facilitate discussions with business partners. Clearly articulate financial information, including budget variances and financial forecasts, to non-financial stakeholders. Contribute to the creation of financial presentations for business reviews.
    • Business Insight Development: Engage in ongoing learning to enhance business acumen. Support business partners in understanding financial concepts and their implications. Demonstrate a commitment to developing the skills necessary for a successful transition to a qualified finance business partner role.
    • Ownership of the budgets & forecasts for specific subsidiaries; collaborating with various departments to gather data and insights to build a robust and realistic plan
    • Monitor budget/forecast variances and provide recommendations to improve financial performance
    • Continuously evaluate and improve financial reporting processes.
    • Identify and implement automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Education & Experience: Completion of AAT level 4 (or similar qualification) and studying towards professional qualification ACCA/ACA/CIMA (or similar)Experience in a similar role in a service businessCOMPETENCIES Ability to communicate effectively with members of the team Attention to detail and diligence in carrying out important tasksAbility to quickly assimilate and information in a fast-paced environment as we develop our systems and processesAbility draw on own experiences to help and support colleaguesBeing able consider alternative ways of doing things, and help contribute to process improvementsAbility to interrogate and analyse financial information to identify anomalies and trends
