    Role Title: Head of QA

    Reports to: VP of Engineering

    Location: Hybrid working environment (Remote and Paddington, London)

    Role Type: Permanent, Full-Time

    As an experienced Quality Assurance Leader, you will devise, improve and oversee all processes that affect the quality of the software we produce. You will manage a team of local permanent QE's along with both nearshore and offshore teams covering our automated and manual testing needs.

    You will establish consistency and continuously identify improvements both for the product platform but also the wider engineering and QA functions. You will have experience of reducing tech debt and finding solutions to drive our performance, along with the ability to report and communicate the progress and improvements being made.

    What we'll expect from you

    • Determining, negotiating and agreeing on in-house quality procedures, standards and specifications
    • Design, build, and expand our automation framework using Java, Selenium, Webdriver and Cucumber
    • Able to learn the domain and the system architecture
    • Facilitate the test strategy for test automation
    • Ensure timely completion of test deliverables
    • Actively participate in planning, estimation, and prioritisation processes to ensure QA perspective across the software development lifecycle
    • Progress BDD methodology aligned with TDD
    • Build and maintain a QA reporting capabilities
    • Work with other engineering and QA teams to ensure consistent end to end coverage
    • Research new technologies and propose improvements ongoing
    • Collaborate with wider QA and development teams to implement robust automation and move the organisation towards continuous testing
    • Motivated and willing to learn new technologies and tools to achieve the maximum level of automation
    • Ability to define and implement lean Agile test processes to transform QA governance
    • Define and implement an automation process that focuses on value and quality

    Experience needed:

    • 5+ years experience working in a Team Lead role with driving test automation & developing automation frameworks
    • Experience in integrating automation scripts as a part of CI/CD pipeline
    • Excellent understanding of BDD, TDD and CI/CD
    • Hands-on automation expertise in Java, Selenium, Webdriver and Cucumber
    • Experience of encouraging change and improvement in performance and quality
    • Working experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
    • ??Creating or enhancing other tools that simplify repetitive tasks, saving testing time and helping regular incremental delivery
    • Understanding of cloud environments such as AWS, Azure etc.
    • Proven experience creating API acceptance tests
    • Experience using JIRA and Confluence
    • Experience in working in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, XP)
    • Excellent understanding of QA methodologies and processes
    • Experience working within development teams and collaborating with architects
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
