    Description

    The faculty of Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences is looking for a talented computing support technician to be the very first point of contact for all computing issues.

    The role holder will work within the Faculty Computing Support Team to install, support and maintain computing systems for teaching and research.

    The team provide a customer focused service for a varied user base in a growing faculty where the use of new technology drives both teaching and research development.

    This role will provide the first line of support across a range of technology issues, interacting with users in-person and the ticketing systems.

    The role holder will be supporting both staff and students which collectively make up a 4,500 growing user base.

    The Computing Support Team is a small team of 10 who play a part in supporting desktops, laptops, servers, cloud systems and in-house web applications.

    Most of our environment is Linux so the ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills in Linux. We also use a small percentage of Windows and Mac devices.

    The candidate should be able to deliver a very high level of customer service throughout the lifetime of the incident.

    This post will be offered on an indefinite contract
