    The Role

    Reporting to the ECD, the Studio Manager is a newly created role responsible for the seamless management of resource and workload in the agency's creative studio, supporting the successful delivery of award-winning creative work.

    Your priority is to manage studio resource effectively and efficiently by working closely with the ECD, creative studio and wider agency teams (PR & Influence, Partnerships, Social & Digital) to ensure that creative work is delivered on budget, on time and to the highest standard.

    You will be accountable for ensuring that creative teams are fully utilised and their time is being optimised for the work that needs to be delivered, whilst facilitating a collaborative creative culture across the studio.

    About You

    As the successful candidate you will be passionate about first class creativity and will bring an energetic, emotionally intelligent management style to the studio, making you equally competent managing senior colleagues as you are interns.

    You'll have strong organisational skills, highly competent at making tasking efficient and not overbearing by implementing clear workflows. Making sure the right stuff is getting done by the right people.

    You're an excellent communicator, both in written and oral skills, and an active listener, able to understand project requirements and then put plans in place to keep tasks and projects on schedule and on budget.

    Key responsibilities

    • Accurately forecasting studio resource needs against actual project demands
    • Accurately matching the correct creative resources to projects based on skills, experience, and availability with minimal input from senior stakeholders
    • Ensuring that the cost of resources against the revenue generated from work is kept to a minimum, e.g. minimising freelance spend whilst maximising in house talent
    • Managing deadlines for multiple projects and prioritising them based on client and agency requirements
    • Ensuring studio timesheets are accurately completed on time each week
    • Working with ECD and Business Directors to identify when freelancers are required, as well as sourcing and managing freelance creatives
    • Attendance at and contribution to internal project meetings
    • Skilfully overseeing productions from brief, check points all the way to delivery working closely with suppliers like photographers, illustrators, directors and other artists to make industry-leading campaigns, involving creatives, CDs and ECDs when needed.

    Requirements

    • Proven track record as a traffic manager / studio manager (or similar) role in a creative agency / production studio. Experience in an independent agency is ideal, but not essential
    • Experience establishing yourself as the go-to person for resource needs and the ability to manage multiple work streams in a fast-paced creative environment
    • Commercially astute with proven experience maximising revenue through effective resource management of creative teams improving the percentage of time they are engaged in billable work
    • Solutions orientated with a desire to always take full accountability for your results/deliverables
    • A passion for award winning creativity – excited about innovative and impactful ideas that cut through and are talked about in the real world
    • Experienced using task management software (E.g. )
    • Competent using Microsoft Office/Google Document software and document sharing
    • Experience of Agile and Waterfall projects
