We are a busy District General Hospital (DGH) serving the population of Medway and Swale and Medway was the first Trust in Kent to achieve foundation trust status in April 2008.
Our Children's nursing team is expanding, and is led by our Head of Nursing for Children and Young People, a Trust wide role to ensure children and young people receive high quality care wherever they access our services across the organisation.
You will be supported by Clinical Nurse Educator, Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and Governance managers, together with a friendly multidisciplinary team and a corporate training and development team.
We have in house leadership programmes and work with a range of universities to ensure you can progress through academic pathways in order to support your career development.
We are also currently devising a rotation programme for our newly qualified nurses to support them in the first 18 months as a registered nurse.

All staff at Medway comply the Trust's and the Kent and Medway Safeguarding Board's policies on safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults.
The post holder is responsible for assessment of care needs of patients, planning programmes of care, implementation and evaluation of these programmes without direct supervision.
At times they will have management responsibility for being in charge of the ward and supervising junior members of staff.
They will be working independently / autonomously and at times without direct supervision, accountable for their own professional working in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through the adoption of person centred care principles.
Responsible for carrying out clinical practice within designated clinical areas, ensuring that high quality, current evidence-based nursing assessment, care planning, implementation, interventions and evaluations for patients is provided from admission through to discharge.
To act as advocate for patients within the area, to ensure a patient orientated approach to the delivery of care and to meet standards within the NHS Plan and other relevant guidelines.
To ensure that patients receive high quality clinical care and a good patient experience, having regard for their customs, religious beliefs and doctrines.
