    *For entry to the Specialty Grade Doctor, applicants will have completed a minimum of 12 years' medical work (either continuous period or in aggregate) since obtaining a primary medical qualification of which a minimum of six years should have been in a relevant specialty in the Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades. experience in a relevant specialty from other medical grades including from overseas will also be accepted.

    *The post-holder will be encouraged to advance their career in Geriatrics and/or a medical specialty, and will be supported in obtaining postgraduate qualifications. All post holders will be expected to cover the full on call rota pattern
    This is a full time substantive contract post.
    The Department currently provides specialist services for acute frailty, falls, dementia, orthogeriatrics, surgical liaison, Parkinson's disease.

    You will be working in partnership with Consultant colleagues, trainees, junior doctors, matrons, ward managers, nursing and therapy teams as part of a well-established multi-professional team.

    You will provide support for the care of medical patients throughout their pathway within the division.

    There will be opportunities to gain experience in speciality outpatient clinics, as well as supporting with the quality improvement of the department.

    There are also opportunities for development and progression, for which we are eager to strengthen our team and are particularly keen to receive applications from those who wish to develop their careers within Geriatrics and Stroke to a senior level.

    Full Registration with the General Medical Council
    Completion of 12 years Medical work since obtaining primary Medical Qualification
    Sufficient experience at SpR level working in Geriatric Medicine and ability to work on the on call rota
    Teaching and Training
    Experience of organising rotas or management experience outside the NHS
