    Waterhouse-Kern Associates are delighted to be working with a leading credit business to find an interim Senior Compiance Manager.

    Position Description:

    This is an exciting position for an accomplished compliance professional to join a consumer credit business that is growing. As they make this transition, they need people who can help them to move forward safely while keeping the customer at the heart of the business.

    You will be responsible for providing compliance advice across the business and, help them deliver good customer outcomes and operate compliantly. They have a focus on continuous improvement across all areas, so you will have the opportunity to refine and improve out compliance processes and frameworks from day one.

    They are looking for someone who naturally considers the customer in everything they do and has a range of experience within the consumer credit sector.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide advice, guidance and challenge to the business on the interpretation and application of the laws, regulations, voluntary codes, policies and procedures applicable to the firm.
    • Own horizon scanning for the firm, ensuring that regulatory developments, industry trends and emerging risks are assessed, communicated and have appropriate visibility within the firm.
    • Own and maintain compliance policies, ensuring they are fit for purpose, reviewed regularly and effectively communicated within the firm.
    • Own and maintain compliance training, ensuring it is comprehensive, fit for purpose, reviewed regularly and completed on time.
    • Lead delivery of regulatory change programmes of varying scale.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for relevant regulatory bodies, ensuring information requests, calls for input, consultations etc and regulatory reporting activities are completed on time and to a high standard.
    • Lead assurance activity, including gap analysis exercises, to ensure delivery of good customer outcomes and assess levels of compliance.
    • Prepare and present reports and updates to senior management on the compliance position of the firm, including developing and producing appropriate management information

    Skills and Experience

    Essential

    • Experience working in a regulated environment and with a particularly focus on consumer credit products.
    • In-depth knowledge of the regulatory landscape, with a particular focus on CONC, DISP, SMCR, PSD2, FIT and Consumer Duty.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to communicate and influence effectively in a variety of settings.
    • Strong organisational skills and good judgement

    Desirable

    • Degree in Business, Law, Finance or a related field
    • Compliance qualification e.g. ICA
    • Ability to lead and develop a small team, should this be required in the future.
