    Global Head of Technical Accounting, Reinsurance
    London

    The Global Head of Technical Accounting for Reinsurance will have excellent technical reinsurance competance and experience, and will be responsible for the governance, continuous improvement and service excellence for our global reinsurance technical accounting. The role will work with regional and Shared Service Technical Accounting colleagues to monitor, manage and govern our global technical accounting service delivery, and will ensure there is clear visibility of performance for key stakeholders. The role will report to the Global Head of Operations & Digital, Reinsurance.

    What will your essential responsibilities include?

    Key Accountabilities:

    · Global oversight of technical accounting responsible for driving consistency, process improvement, best practice, automation and continuous improvement across the Reinsurance segment

    · Work with regional reinsurance Technical Accounting colleagues and Shared Service Technical Accounting colleagues to assure timely and accurate financial data and achievement of service excellence

    · Dotted line dual reporting line manager for 5 Technical Accounting Managers / Leaders across the globe (Bermuda, North America and International Regions, Shared Service India and Shared Service Poland). Solid line reporting will be to a manager in country / in region.

    · Maintain high relationships with key stakeholders through frequent contact and being responsive to their business needs

    · Develop and mentor Technical Accounting Managers / Leads in Region and in Shared Service to assure professional growth and value add

    · Proven ability to challenge the status quo and deliver successful change

    · Engage, influence and align stakeholders in support of Global Operations goals

    · Collaborate with Reinsurance IT team to continuously improve efficiency of processing and to accommodate new types of business

    · Participating member of the Global Reinsurance Operations leadership group

    Core Competencies:

    · Robust learning agility and ability to use new information effectively

    · Demonstrate the ability for staying close to internal clients / key stakeholders, and to view technical accounting through the lens of the customer, going out of their way to anticipate customer needs

    · Solid understanding of the workings of a reinsurance business

    · Support reinsurance technical accounting in the global context, looking across geographical borders in identifying opportunities and threats. Capable of working and collaborating with a virtual team, across multiple diverse geographies and value the differences across cultures.

    · Continuous Improvement Focused: Willing to ask questions and explore new ideas. Eager to learn and focused on continuously improving technical skills and AXA XL Reinsurance technical accounting capabilities.

    · Be a robust collaborator: Establish and maintain productive working relationships with internal stakeholders. Devote appropriate time and energy to establishing and maintaining appropriate networks and utilise them to facilitate business outcomes.

    · Be team oriented and identify with the larger Reinsurance organisation and their role within it.

    · Ability to effectively support consistent and optimised training, direction and support to improve the depth of technical accounting capabilities across the segment

    We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

    Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Necessary to Perform the Job:

    · Education to Bachelor's degree level or equivalent in Accounting

    · Advanced Technical or Reinsurance Accounting Experience.

    · Extensive knowledge relating to the provision of and accounting for Letters of Credit

    · Demonstrated experience in managing and deliving effective processes related to reinsurance account processing, cash allocation, balance settlement and collection.

    · Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    · Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft suite of products.

    · CPCU or ACII designation would be beneficial
