    Head of Operations

    New Town Partnership is working with an investment management firm to appoint a new Head of Operations.

    The Head of Operations will join a small team and report to the Operations Director who sits on the Board. There is likely to be some line management responsibility and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to help shape this diverse role, working in a highly autonomous way while becoming a trusted advisor within the business.

    The Role

    The focus of this role is supporting the Operations Director overseeing all day-to-day operations of the firm. This includes liaising with all other department heads to ensure you have oversight and offer support on all operational issues until resolution. Some of the key responsibilities are outlined below but by the nature of the role, these will vary and will depend on what projects are being undertaken at any given time.

    • Ensure that the firm provides excellent client service.
    • Oversight of the firm's outsource partners.
    • Report to the Board on the performance of the firm's operations as required.
    • Provide all necessary management information to the Operations Director.
    • Reporting to the Management Committee monthly.
    • Regularly review of processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Oversee the practical implementation of new initiatives and continuity plans.
    • Lead significant ad-hoc projects as required.
    • Understand key regulatory changes that might impact the firm's day-to-day operations.
    • Ensure all procedural documentation is up to date.
    • Continually identify potential risk areas and take appropriate actions.

    The ability to build strong internal and external relationships will be vital to the success of this role. You will be expected to offer challenge to the stakeholders and to actively contribute to the operating strategy and continued operational improvement of the business.

    We are seeking to speak to candidates with investment and financial operations experience who understand the legislative and regulatory impact on business solutions (e.g. exposure to CBI, FCA, PRA and OFSI). The key candidate requirements are outlined below.

    Candidate Requirements

    • Educated to degree level.
    • Investment or financial operations experience.
    • Project management experience.
    • Commercially astute in your outlook.
    • An ability to set up processes and controls.
    • Some prior budgetary responsibility and ability to demonstrate driving cost efficiencies.
    • Creative in your outlook with a problem-solving mentality that looks for the most effective way to deliver operational efficiencies.
    • Highly numerical with strong attention to detail.
    • Broad understanding of relevant FCA regulatory requirements.
    • Exceptional communication, presentation and influencing skills.
