    Description

    Deaf Explorer is seeking a Creative Director to drive change in the cultural domain and break down barriers hindering Deaf individuals from fully engaging in the arts.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Engage Deaf leaders at local, regional, and national levels to develop distinctive projects enhancing access and participation in the arts
    • Inspire the next wave of Deaf creatives and empower Deaf artists to achieve their goals
    • Raise awareness within the Deaf community about opportunities in the arts
    • Foster collaboration between the cultural sector and the Deaf community with a strong emphasis on access and inclusion
    • Provide leadership and utilize negotiation skills to effectively utilize available resources in the arts for advancing Deaf Arts and Culture
    • Drive co-creation initiatives with the cultural sector, incorporating learning and evaluation processes for continuous enhancement of Deaf-led artistic projects
    • Collaborate with Deaf Explorer's Board and the CEO to develop a strategic vision ensuring long-term sustainability and assessing the impact on the Deaf creative and cultural sectors

    Requirements

    • Proven ability to lead change in the cultural sector and break barriers for Deaf participation in the arts
    • Proficiency in BSL and the capacity to craft an artistic vision that excites cultural organizations and resonates with the Deaf artistic and wider community
