    We have a wonderful opportunity to join our Community Paediatric Team in Burton.

    We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to work alongside side our existing Team Leaders. This is an excellent opportunity for an already experienced Team Leader to further enhance and develop their leadership skills, or for someone who wishes to further develop their career in leadership and management.

    If you have a first level professional nursing or midwifery qualification we would love to hear from you.

    Main duties of the job

    • Day to day line management responsibility for staff working within the service including
    • management of sickness, performance, recruitment and appraisals.
    • To engage in and support the development of policies, procedures and working practices within the team.
    • Ensure implementation, monitoring, evaluation and compliance with all policies and procedures in area of responsibility.
    • To ensure that all Trust policies and guidelines are adhered to and provide guidance to clinical staff regarding implementation.
    • To support the local implementation/development of National strategies and to initiate change and practice development.
    • Maintains the achievement of Key Performance Indicators and Essential Standards
    • To promote, develop, implement and manage clinical standards and good practices within their sphere of responsibility.
    • Work with colleagues to develop and communicate the vision of patient centred care.
    • Support PALS and complaints policy and procedures
    • Supports clinical risk management activities within sphere of responsibility.

    Qualifications

    Essential criteria

    • First level professional nursing or midwifery
    • Post-registration experience and/or evidence of formal courses and training at post graduate diploma level

    Desirable criteria

    • Leadership or management training or qualification (or significant demonstrable experience)

    Experience

    Essential criteria

    • Experience of effectively initiating, developing, implementing and evaluating operational processes.
    • Demonstrable experience of effective multi-disciplinary team working.
    • Risk assessment / risk management knowledge and skills.
    • Management and supervision skills

    Desirable criteria

    • Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams
    • Project management skills
