    Description

    The Examinations & Admissions Officer holds a crucial position within our school, responsible for ensuring the smooth and effective administration of all examinations and the admissions process. This role demands meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills. Working closely with both internal and external stakeholders such as teaching staff, the local authority and external examination bodies, the Examinations & Admissions Officer co-ordinates and administers all aspects of internal and external examinations, including GCSEs, A-Levels, and other relevant assessments. This entails ensuring compliance with all JCQ regulations, from candidate registration to the arrangement of examination venues.

    In addition to this, the Officer is tasked with developing and maintaining examination timetables, considering factors such as resource availability, regulations, and the needs of students and staff. This involves co-ordinating the scheduling of examination invigilators to ensure adequate coverage for all examination sessions. Moreover, the Officer provides crucial support to candidates, offering guidance on examination procedures, regulations, and working with the SEND Manager on access arrangements, particularly for candidates with specific needs.

    Integral to the role is the meticulous management of examination data, including maintaining accurate records of entries, candidate information, and results, while ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. Furthermore, the Officer plays a key role in results management, overseeing the distribution of examination results and supporting our Data Manager. Additionally, you will provide training and support to staff and invigilators on examination procedures, ensuring they are well-prepared and informed about any changes to examination board regulations and procedures.

    Responsibilities also include managing inquiries from prospective students and parents, providing information about the school, its programs, and the admissions process. The Officer will guide applicants through the application process, ensuring all required documents and information are submitted accurately and in a timely manner. This is largely focused on Y7 applicants as Y12 applications are collected by the Sixth Form team. You will also deal with in year applications. You will work with the Local Authority to communicate admission decisions to applicants and provide data to the school about which students have been admitted.

    This post is offered on a 37 hours per week, permanent, term time only, plus 10 additional days in the school holidays to include 2 INSET days (the first of September and the Spirituality Day and the days in the lead up to, and on the examination results days) basis.

    Salary: Grade 6 SCP 18-22, £25,933-£27,789 (actual), £29,269-£31,364 FTE

    This post attracts a Recruitment and Retention allowance

    The hours of worked offered are: Monday – Friday 8am to 4pm (with 3.30pm Friday finish)
