Job summary
Within the research and development team we have 2 opportunities within the data management team, 1 permanent role and 1 12month internal Secondment both working hrs across Monday to Friday.
The post holders will be a member of the R&D research team and be responsible for supporting the R&D manager, lead nurse and research delivery team. The role will require the post holder to liaise with all research staff, clinicians, health professionals and clerical staff across the trust, being responsible for providing data management and administrative support as needed for the research portfolio.
Main duties of the job
1. To supply data as required to the Research Nurses regarding progress of research studies.
2. Collection of patient data from medical notes and completion of case record forms (CRFs) and liaise with, Research Nurses and Clinicians to ensure correct data collection
3. To be responsible for forwarding trial data in a timely manner to the trial co-ordinating centre. Liaise with clinical trial personnel outside the hospital as necessary.
4. To assist in the review of trial protocols and identify resource implications for the site.
5. To check eligibility of patients into trials and to ensure that all relevant data has been recorded
6. To take responsibility for liaising with Clinical Trials Units regarding data queries and for checking and resolving data queries
7. To contribute to the development of clinical and research policies/procedures/Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
8. To assist with the acquisition and distribution of relevant trial documentation.
9. To assist with where appropriate the establishment and maintenance of trial site files for trials in accordance with ICH good clinical practice (GCP) and Research Governance
10. To transcribe/export data from medical records (paper or electronic) to CRFs (paper or electronic) as required by the protocol
