    Description

    Role: Staff Support Networks Coordinator

    Department: Dorset Police

    Dorset Police recognises the value and contribution of the Staff Support Networks that help us to create a fair and inclusive workplace, through support of staff in under-represented groups throughout the organisation. Staff support networks provide vital signposting, support and voices for our workforce and they act as a critical friend in relation to Force policies, procedures and processes. This role will provide support to that effort.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Coordinating and supporting the activities of the Staff Support Networks, ensuring they are accessible to all members of staff and operate in line with Dorset Police values and objectives.
    • Acting as a central point of contact and facilitating communication between Staff Support Networks, senior management and HR teams within Dorset Police.
    • Providing guidance and support to members of Staff Support Networks to identify and address issues and concerns and ensure the effective representation of under-represented groups within Dorset Police.
    • Working with stakeholders across the organisation to develop, implement and monitor initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion within Dorset Police.
    • Working closely with the Human Resources team to ensure that Staff Support Network activity is integrated into HR processes, policies and procedures.

    Skills and Experience:

    • Experience working in a similar role within a large, complex organisation.
    • Excellent knowledge of diversity and inclusion issues and experience of promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
    • Experience working with under-represented groups and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade others and produce clear and concise reports.
    • A proven track record of project management, with excellent organisational and time management skills.
    • Knowledge of HR policies and procedures would be an advantage but is not essential.

    Working Arrangements:

    • This is a full-time, permanent role.
    • The role is predominantly office-based but may involve occasional travel.
    • Flexible working arrangements may be available, subject to operational requirements.
