    Business Development Manager

    Salary k, Hybrid Co Car, Excellent Commission Scheme

    Location – Northants/Beds/Herts/Bucks/Cambs

    Sector - Merchant Trade

    A fantastic opportunity to join the biggest in the game No other business has the same market share as this, with a large and thriving existing customer base, the goal is to grow these and bring on more custom, for the right person this will be no hard sell. Full autonomy and freedom over your working week, with basic KPIs, you are treated like an adult. Very rare these days.

    Ideally you will come from a merchant trade sales background, selling a range of building products into the independent and bigger player space, you should be familiar with this sales process. If you have direct builders merchant or roofing merchant experience that will be a bonus. Experience being out on the road is essential.

    For the right person progression is very realistic, this business will develop and grow talent.

    Key objectives -

    • Managing key accounts, developing existing & new customers and driving local market penetration
    • Identify, target and develop sales opportunities for assigned products within the regional market sectors
    • Assume responsibility for achieving sales budgets of assigned products within applicable territory and will be expected to provide expert knowledge and support to customers, providing invaluable assistance in securing sales opportunities
    • Monitor and review sales & margin across region & products, addressing shortfalls and areas of concern, whilst highlighting areas of opportunity to the business
    • To undertake product demonstrations & staff training across the merchant product range
    • Influencing and promoting sales during face to face meetings with customers
    • Research new opportunities and keeping up to date with the market and competitor products
    • Establishing, maintaining and expanding your customer base
    • Meeting the monthly/quarterly sales plan goals set for your area
    • Responsible for achieving sales & margin budget as part of the overall business budget
    • Ensure all KPI's as per merchant plan are achieved
    Key competencies -
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Persistent, ambitious and have a strong drive for success
    • They must be able to interface with Outlook, Excel, PP, Word & CRM systems
    • They must be professional, sell-motivated and enthusiastic
    • Knowledge of building and roofing products is desirable
    • Able to manage own time and diary with honesty and integrity
    Overall you must be sales focused and not afraid to make a cold call, along with the development of existing accounts we are seeking someone to open up new ones.
