    10 month maternity cover - secondment / fixed term contract.


    Clinical Trauma Co-ordinator St Helier site -Trauma and Orthopaedics-The Trauma Co-Ordinator will co-ordinate the care of all emergency patients, admissions in accordance with local guidelines and pathways ensuring the effect use of orthopaedic beds, and the optimisation of patients and utilisation of theatre lists to provide a comprehensive, high quality Orthopaedic Trauma Team Service.

    To maintain quality communication between theatres, the emergency department, fracture clinic and other external agencies.

    To attend daily trauma handover meetings at 8am Monday - Friday.

    The Trauma Co-Ordinator must have an active and valid registration with the NMC.


    The expectations within this job description will be met through professional leadership, clinical management, hands on clinical practice, education and training, and research.

    Ensure trust Nil-by-mouth policy is followed and ensure patients are given food and drinks if they are not listed for theatre of if they are cancelled.


    Daily review of pre and post-operative hip fracture patients and ensure plans are in place, to include falls assessment, bone health assessment, AMTS and ortho-geriatric assessment.

    To act in accordance with the NMC or HCPC code of conduct at all times.
