    Department Profile

    The ISG Cross-Divisional Governance group within ISG Management is responsible for governing the Global Model Control, Electronic Trading Algo Governance, Trader Mandate, Booking Model, and Trading Risk Limit Governance functions within Morgan Stanley. These in-business risk management teams partner with internal and external control groups to understand business needs and their associated risks, execute on practical solutions, and maintain a global governance, communication, and awareness strategy that underscores a culture of control excellence.

    Primary Responsibilities

    This specific role is part of the Algo Model Control Office focused on governing model and algo control requirements for ISG's electronic trading algorithms. Responsibilities will include:

    • Managing the global Model Control Office and governance for ISG's electronic trading algorithms
    • Developing strong working relationships and collaborating within the Sales & Trading business and with independent control functions to develop model control governance standards for the Firm's electronic trading algorithms
    • Leading the implementation of 1st Line of Defense control and governance processes to meet policy standards
    • Development and execution of strategic projects, including delegation of key tasks across the team, measuring progress against deliverables, and resolving or escalating issues
    • Maintaining regular stakeholder communications and training to ensure continuous awareness of the model control process
    • Monitoring compliance of governance requirements through the review of relevant metrics and indicators
    • Chairing/participating at various senior oversight committees, both globally and regionally
    • Centrally tracking audit and regulatory requirements and contributing to key regulatory initiatives and/or responses, where necessary
    • Supporting senior management with ad hoc requests/projects #LI-KF1

    Skills Required

    • Excellent communications skills, verbal and written, and ability to build relationships internally within the team and externally with other groups
    • Strong leadership skills with ability to prioritize, execute, resolve and/or escalate effectively in a fast-paced environment
    • Analytical thinker with aptitude to creatively solve problems and provide challenge where needed
    • Experience in developing concise and effective management reports and regular updates with keen attention to detail and high personal standards for quality of work
    • Experience with project management, including complex initiatives, across multiple departments, groups, or lines of defense
    • Understanding of risk management principles
    • Experience in model risk management and/or electronic trading is ideal but not essential
    • Excellent desktop application skills: Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
    • Minimum education qualification is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent
