    Description

    The Operational Services department is currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic individual to oversee the delivery of Commercial activities.

    This role involves ensuring that performance management, contract process management (including risk management), supplier relationship management, and governance are effectively implemented across all Commercial delivery activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the procurement and contract management of approximately 120 contracts, with an annual expenditure of £55m.

    As a valued member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in helping us achieve our goals and maintain our commitment to excellence. As a Service Manager, you will provide essential support to various services, including Facilities Management, Repairs and Maintenance, Fleet Management, Home-to-School Transport, and Customer Services. Your contribution will directly contribute to our overall success, making you an indispensable part of our operations.

  • Ability to manage various budgets, including analysis and development within a specific financial framework.
  • To be successful in this role, candidates must be adaptable and quick-thinking, able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and have the motivation to learn new skills quickly. Prior experience leading on procurement and contract management and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders is essential.

    If appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
