    Role overview

    We are looking for an experienced Account Manager. As the Account Manager you are responsible for the day-to-day running of the account. You have oversight across all activities and an understanding of the client's review processes, deadlines and budgets, and can advise the team on timelines and delivery accordingly.

    You will establish a relationship with the client, taking a lead on calls, responding to requests accurately and on time, and being their first point of contact. Your team should receive clear briefs from you, and you should help junior members manage their time appropriately and develop materials which are essentially client ready.

    At Aurora, Account Managers also act as line managers, and you will provide mentoring and coaching support to junior members of the agency.

    You should have in-depth knowledge of the healthcare communications codes of practice and be able to recommend code-compliant means of engaging with various stakeholders, including patients, healthcare professionals and the media. You take an active role in a business plan workstream and consider the needs of the business beyond client delivery.

    You look for creative or new ways of doing things, examining the world beyond Aurora and our industry to identify innovative approaches which can be applied to healthcare communications. As an Account Manager at Aurora you should be confident to take on new challenges and work outside your comfort zone, yet still know when to seek senior counsel or draw in additional support.

    Essential skills and qualifications:

    • Three to four years' experience in account handling, preferably in a healthcare agency setting
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Methodical and considered when solving problems
    • Confident providing counsel to juniors and clients
    • Proactivity
    • Flexibility and able to multitask
    • Highly organized; good at overseeing timelines and team workload
    • Collaborative; proven ability to work well in a team-setting

    Key responsibilities will include:

    • Reviewing materials developed by junior team members, including client emails and status reports, and helping the team develop quality deliverables on time
    • Defining and communicating the administrative tasks required for the smooth running of the account to junior team members, including scheduling team and client meetings, setting up action trackers and creating project timelines
    • Taking the lead on several large projects, from brief to completion
    • Establishing strong client relationships to best understand account objectives and make strategic recommendations
    • Planning the workload for you and the team, and flagging to the senior team should any resource needs arise
    • Developing high-quality first drafts of complex materials, including proposals, presentations and media materials, and flexing verbal and written style to suit varied audiences
    • Responsible for career development of junior team members
    • Serve as finance lead for assigned accounts
    • Developing content for client's social media channels, flexing your style depending on the audience
    • Proactively considering ways additional services, such as social media listening or patient involvement, could support your existing accounts and discuss them with your team
    • Facilitating creative brainstorm sessions, write up individual tactics and develop the supporting budgets (as part of the wider programme)
    • Briefing junior team members to conduct desk research and analyse their findings
    • Presenting at credentials meetings and pitches

    • We offer a hybrid working environment. Candidates should be able to commute into our London office 2-3 days per week.

    The anticipated salary range for this position will be £35,000 - £45,000. Salary is based on job-related factors such as: years of relevant experience, qualifications and/or certifications. Aurora reserves the right to modify this pay range at any given time.
