    We are looking for a highly skilled and passionate Legal Services Team Leader within our Repairs Team at Notting Hill Genesis to be the voice to the business on legal matters relating to Disrepair on a fixed term contract of 1 year.

    You will manage a team to lead on resolving disrepair claims for the organisation and work collaboratively with operational and repairs teams to ensure placing the resident at the centre of decisions made

    You will have prior knowledge, expertise and experience in housing litigation with a particular focus on disrepair to ensure that your team are equipped and accountable to manage disrepair claims.

    You will provide training and advice on proactively managing legal cases to empower operational teams to understand wider legal implications and make informed management decisions.

    Lead and empower a team of Paralegals to ensure assigned casework is managed effectively and to high quality.
    Ensure high risk disrepair cases (particularly EPA claims with criminal liability) are flagged and prioritised. Anticipate risks to the organisation and propose recommendations to mitigate this.

    Manage a caseload of legal cases as required, providing specialist advice to support the overall capacity of your team.

    The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have experience working with a legal department of a housing association, local authority or similar organisation with a proven record of successfully resolving disrepair cases.

    Significant experience of managing your own caseload of housing management litigation cases with a particular focus on disrepair.
    Sound understanding and application of the Civil Procedure Rules and the Pre-Action Protocol for Housing Conditions Claims.
    A Law degree, LPC, CILEX (level 3 and above) or equivalent.
    Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with a valid Practising Certificate.
