    Description

    Job Summary:
    We are seeking a talented Legal/Product Counsel to join our team at k-ID.

    As a Legal/Product Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal guidance and support to our product and engineering teams, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

    You will play a key role in helping us navigate legal complexities and mitigate any potential risks that may arise.

    The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with a strong legal background and experience in the technology industry.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Provide legal advice and guidance to our product and engineering teams, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations related to online safety, child privacy, and data protection
    Review and negotiate contracts and agreements, including privacy policies, terms of service, and intellectual property licenses
    Assist in conducting legal research and analysis on various topics affecting the company's products and operations
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
    Keep up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations, and communicate any changes or updates to internal stakeholders
    Support the development and implementation of company policies and procedures related to legal and compliance matters
    Assist in managing legal disputes and investigations, as necessary
    Requirements
    ~ Law degree from an accredited university and admission to practice law
    ~ Minimum of 3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in the technology industry
    ~2+ PQE with top tier international law firm experience or Tier-1 tech company
    ~ Strong knowledge of EU and international laws and regulations related to online safety, child privacy, and data protection (e.g. GDPR, COPPA)
    ~ Experience in reviewing and negotiating contracts and agreements
    ~ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
    ~ Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and provide practical and strategic legal advice
    ~ High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
    ~ Knowledge of intellectual property laws and licensing agreements is a plus
    ~ Fluency in English, with knowledge of other European languages being a plus
