    Description

    James and James eCommerce Fulfilment Founder James Hyde is an engineering graduate from the University of Cambridge.

    After a spell as an angel investor's apprentice, he spotted the chance to modernise eCommerce fulfilment, while working with an online honey seller. With friend and fellow Cambridge graduate, James Strachan, he founded James and James in 2010.

    University of Cambridge - Manufacturing Engineering.

    Where were you born and raised?

    What's your background in fulfilment?

    None I got into the industry simply by seeing that there was an opportunity to improve it but it's not something I've ever had experience of. To a great extent I think this is often a benefit and the vast majority of our hires aren't from the industry.

    What does a typical day look like (if there is such a thing)?

    My days change a lot week to week and day to day, and my role has evolved (and continues to evolve) as the company grows.

    Craziest thing you've ever done?

    Spent 10 days driving dirt roads across the mountains and desert of Oman (I think it's fair to say this invalidated the hire car insurance, plus they did complain the car was "too dirty" when we returned it).

    Fast Track 100 status, double-time Queen's Award winners, year-on-year growth; our immense success as an eCommerce fulfilment partner to hundreds of online brands just wouldn't be possible without our people.

    While awards are lovely, our reason for being is so much more.
