    Description

    The appointed Director of Finance and Operations will be a well-qualified, enthusiastic and adaptable individual who will lead with confidence, energy and clarity on the financial and administrative management of the school. Responsible directly to the Head, the successful candidate will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and will oversee the organisation and smooth running of several of the non-teaching aspects of the school. Working closely with the Head, the role will involve long-term strategic development and planning for the whole school as well as responsibility for all commercial and operational matters affecting the school.

    The post holder will be committed to supporting, through all aspects of their work, the educational aims of the school, and the needs of the students and will demonstrate a commitment to the safeguarding aims of the school. He or she will be able to inspire and motivate support staff to understand the shared purpose behind their work.

    The successful candidate will be an individual of proven senior leadership ability, a strategic thinker and able to establish highly effective, collaborative working relationships with Governors and colleagues at all levels. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, exceptional financial acumen and robust commercial judgement will be essential.

    Applicants will need to have a genuine interest in and empathy for education, however prior school bursar experience is not a pre-requisite.
