    Description
    Established in 2000, Modern Networks provides information and communications technology solutions and support to businesses nationwide.

    We partner with technology vendors including HP, Cisco, NetApp, Microsoft and VMWare to deliver market leading technology solutions which enable organisations to increase their business efficiency, improve customer service and reduce business costs.

    Based from either our Cambridge or Hitchin offices, our Technical Support Engineers help maintain and support both our internal and customers' network infrastructure and services.

    Our engineers also attend customer sites as required (or work from home as appropriate), and work flexible hours to deal with priority incidents.

    The role sits within the 3rd Line Technical Support team who are primarily responsible for the management, operation and support of our network systems and equipment.

    Provide 3rd line escalated support to our Network clients, remotely and on-site.

    Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues within our core and customer networks and respond to event and incident data and alerts.

    Mentor junior engineers, continuously increasing their capability.
    Create and maintain network documentation, Knowledge Base articles and Work Instructions.
    Participate in out-of-hours on-call rota

    Networking knowledge, preferably possessing relevant desirable qualification such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIP, etc.
    Experience configuring and supporting networking infrastructure including routers and switches
    Knowledge of layer 2 technologies, such as Spanning Tree Protocol
    Experience of network monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, PRTG, LibreNMS, Nagios etc.
