    Job Description

    As a Paid Social Business Director, you will be directing with your team to deliver best-in-class performance for our global flagship client in consumer tech. You will be a specialist in full funnel Paid Social with deep platform knowledge across Meta, Snapchat, TikTok and more for both Brand and Performance activity. With that platform knowledge, you'll navigate your team through the latest best practices, standardisation and our product proposition enforcement. You provide strategic insight, develop your team of specialists, and be responsible for the quality work we expect to deliver.

    This is a senior role within the social department. This means you will be an escalation point of contact for client and partners, as well as for our wider team. You will also work with the Head of Paid Social, Europe to deliver on our department projects for futureproof Paid Social, and leadership pillars. But you won't stop there. You will live & breathe innovation, fostering a culture of continuous and responsible experimentation for your team.

    You'll be the guiding force for a team of Managers and Executives across both London and India; nurturing their careers within the agency.

    About Social at Assembly

    We are defining a new standard for the Paid Social industry. Through innovative operating models, proprietary technology, and amazing talent, our formula enables us to get the most from AI-powered Paid Social campaigns for our clients. Our team of up to 45 specialists (across Europe and India) ensure that we are at the forefront of what is possible. We are growing and building a team of diverse Paid Social professionals for the future. We want people who will challenge the status quo and strive for continuous excellence in everything they do.

    Key responsibilities

    • Your team will be responsible for impeccable activation. You will enforce the highest standards, as per the Assembly formula for paid social success.
    • You will be a source of positive and constructive feedback as appropriate for your team's development.
    • Enforce agreed service level agreements. Your team never over-promise and under-deliver.
    • Your team will have zero errors. You monitor the ways of working, levels of daily diagnostics and non-negotiables to be checked each day to ensure zero errors. You will govern the systems and technology currently in place to identify issues and provide solutions to fix things before they become a problem, and drive operational innovation to find further workflow efficiencies.
    • Train your team to find the insight that can help us fuel growth for clients, and continually challenge the status quo.
    • You will support with your team and department resource planning and recruitment.
    • You are an active senior leader of the social community. You will be an escalation point for your direct team, and others in the department. You will be present in leading team meetings, events, and department projects alongside the Head of Paid Social to develop the team.
    • You will be an escalation point for the partnership with senior clients, media owners, and tech partners.
    • Collaborate with other departments in the agency to deliver on projects for clients.
    • You will be involved in new business pitches. You will have an eye for identifying opportunities for up/cross-selling of our services.
    • You will be a thought-leader, writing whitepapers and blog posts on the latest news & updates for paid social.

    Success will be measured by delivering consistently excellent performance and business growth for our clients. This will be measured through excelling client KPI's and business objectives, growth in agency revenue, as well as client feedback.

    The development of your team is a key indicator of how well you are performing in the role, it's essential we see growth in their development through achieving and over-achieving on their objectives.

    As a senior leader, success will also be defined by the completion of department wide projects, as per our department strategy & objectives.

    Requirements

    • You work to the highest standard, and always on time. You team will also need to do the same.
    • You are a self-starter with a passion for paid social and marketing.
    • A leader for Paid Social knowledge, evidence of own thought leadership, up-to-date certifications essential.
    • Operationally proficient with project management skills. You demonstrate a clear ability to manage multiple tasks and differing priorities, not only for yourself but for others.
    • Exceptional attention to detail.
    • Evidence of working with large multi-market clients, budget, and strategy for Paid Social.
    • Strong knowledge of both Brand Performance led Paid Social planning and Campaign Activation. Knowledge of advanced Paid Social products including ASC, CAPI etc
    • Effective communicator. You will show an ability to be able to talk to clients clearly about performance and strategy. You make the complex, simple.
    • Experience managing resourcing on a large account, and the ability to outline effective roles and responsibilities for each level within the team.
    • Experience in line management and setting development plans for your direct reports. Clear evidence of giving constructive feedback to team.
    • Expert knowledge of Paid Social platforms including Meta, Snapchat, TikTok, Linkedin, Pinterest etc, as well as knowledge of areas such as Attribution, Viewability, Incrementality measurement etc.
    • You don't shy away from taking ownership for you and your team's output. You identify solutions to problems and are proactive to preventing issues.
    • Involvement in new business pitches is a bonus.
