    Description

    Job title: Knowledge and Information Specialist

    Salary: £37,281 - £43,957 depending on experience

    Location: London

    Flexible Working : opportunities include full time, part time, and compressed hours.

    Due to the sensitive nature of the work, the majority of the role is office-based but flexibility such as a compressed four-day week, nine-day fortnights and accumulated time off in lieu is possible.

    As a Knowledge and Information Specialist, you'll maximise the impact of unique and critical information and actively contribute to our mission. Whether you're at MI5 or MI6, you'll bring your background in information management to the role. You'll share your knowledge as you support the development of our Data Management and Compliance community, drive business outcomes and inform key decision-making.

    At MI5, you'll work within the team responsible for records data management, information and knowledge management, policy, and data governance. There may also be line management opportunities, depending on the posting.

    At MI6, you'll be part of a team working across a number of related subject areas such as policy, information and knowledge management, data management, data governance and compliance.

    Collaborative and approachable, you'll provide advice and guidance to colleagues, stakeholders, and partners across our organisations. You'll shape requirements and act as a subject matter expert, bringing demonstrable experience of applying policy and legal frameworks to a variety of situations.

    To apply, you'll need a qualification in data/information/records management or data governance, or a minimum of two years relevant experience in one of these areas. You'll have a talent for information management and be keen to build your career in this area.

    Upon joining either MI5 or MI6, you'll attend an induction where you'll be introduced to the organisation. You'll also receive a section-specific induction with members of the team to enable you to learn the specific requirements of your role. We offer extensive learning and development opportunities, including support gaining or maintaining professional qualifications.

    Please note that due to the sensitive nature of the role, opportunities to work from home are limited. We do offer flexible hours such as a compressed four-day week, nine-day fortnights, accumulated time off in lieu (TOIL) or part-time (three days per week), however the latter may impact your salary.
