    Casual Field Training Officers – Navigating Dementia

    £14.24 per hour with travel expenses

    Home based with occasional travel throughout UK

    About Us

    The RAF (Royal Air Force) Association has a clear objective: to help sustain a resilient and empowered RAF community, including serving personnel, RAF veterans and their families. Through our sector leading services, we offer friendship to the isolated and lonely, sheltered housing for those who want to remain proudly independent and childcare to serving personnel on RAF stations. We work closely with partner organisations, including other military charities, and have a strong bond with our donors and supporters, giving us the confidence to deliver for our beneficiaries when they need us.

    With thousands of members across the UK and further afield, plus hundreds of dedicated employees and volunteers, we have the network and experience needed for a personal one-to-one approach. We work together to make sure no one is ever left behind.

    About the Team

    Our team of Casual Field Trainers are instrumental in delivering our sector leading virtual and Face to Face courses, currently primarily Navigating Dementia and also our Finding it Tough courses, although there are opportunities to become involved in the delivery of other training.

    Navigating Dementia

    Everyone's journey when navigating dementia is unique and being a member of the RAF community can add additional complexities. This may be due to caring for someone with dementia while away on deployment or looking after family members who have served. The accredited face to face training course will include information about dementia, sources of support, self-help and the opportunity to talk with people in a similar situation. The course is open to serving personnel, veterans and their families and anyone else who is part of the RAF community. Courses are held on RAF stations or RAFA branches which will occasionally involve overnight stays, it is therefore vital that you are able to travel as part of the role. (A UK driving licence is an essential requirement)

    About You

    If you're an experienced trainer in the Dementia sector and looking for a great work/life balance then this role could be a great fit. Whilst the role is casual, we can let you know of upcoming course dates and locations well in advance. Accomplished in delivering interactive training using a range of methods and strategies, you will also have experience of delivering accredited qualification courses. We need you to be highly proficient in IT so that you can confidently deliver occasional online courses (the majority of Navigating Dementia courses are delivered in person). We will encourage your input into amending and revising programmes to adapt to changes to keep our content fresh, appropriate and, most of all, an engaging experience.
