    JOB TITLE: Senior Application Support Analyst

    JOB LOCATION: London/Hybrid

    Job Type: Fixed Term or Permanent employment

    We are seeking several Senior Application Support Analysts with a strong background in supporting live production systems as BAU. They are also expected to support multiple simultaneous projects and service releases.

    Investigate issues, develop fixes, support new releases, and perform general maintenance and administration

    All round experience in working on an application support team. Take ownership of issues and have a proactive approach to ensuring system stability and resilience.

    Out of hours support overnight and across weekends and Bank Holidays is needed.

    Strong business knowledge is required for working with business teams during investigations.

    Must be self-motivated with the ability to prioritise workloads.

    Key Technical Skills:

    Expert in Unix

    Expert in Shell scripting

    Oracle and SQL scripts

    Understanding of software development lifecycle and methodologies

    Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    General application support responsibilities such as:

    · Building and supporting environments

    · Running intraday and end of day batches using Control-M job schedular

    · Responding to queries from application users

    · Liaising with other technology teams to facilitate build/support/troubleshooting activities

    · Making minor code enhancements where possible as part of continuous improvement to the support function

    · Configuring monitoring and logging software (Datadog preferably) on all resources of the application service

    · Incident management

    · Produce wiki or other relevant documentation to enhance in-house knowledge base

    · Maintain working relationship with business teams and business management

    · Out of hours support

    • Be available for overnight support of production services to ensure successful completion of processing
    • Respond to overnight calls and deal with issues
    • Support weekend releases and maintenance work
    • Participate in Production out of hours activities such as Disaster Recovery exercises

    PERSON SPECIFICATION

    Education:

    · Degree educated, preferably in a technical discipline

    Skills/Experience/Qualifications:

    • Expert in Unix
    • Expert in Shell scripting
    • Oracle and SQL script
    • Experience in banking or investment banking environment is desirable
    • Familiarity with financial products and financial terms
    • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
    • Experience of testing and presenting test results highly desirable
    • Experience of working in an IT support team
    • Preferable exposure to AWS Cloud technologies (EC2, EBS, RDS, VPC)
    • Preferable exposure to DevOps and related technologies (bitbucket, Jenkins)
    • Exposure to Postgres would be beneficial but not essential
    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to IT and business teams and to senior management
