    Sales Manager for Chinese speciality restaurants / retailers - SUSTAINABLE SEAFOOD - remote working / part time.

    About the Company

    We are a European importer of sustainable seafood from around the world. Our customer base stretches across Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the rest of Europe, and varies from small distributors to larger retailers. Our supplier partners are "best in class" fishing companies spanning the globe.

    Our mission is: To bring the world's finest and most sustainable seafood to the European market. In contrast to the huge volumes of unsustainable and low quality seafood that is imported into Europe.

    The position

    We are looking for a dynamic Sales Manager to secure new listings for our SAQUA portfolio of seafood brands in a range of different channels across the German speaking countries.

    Speaking Chinese and/or Japanese as well would be a nice advantage but is not critical.

    In this role you will be responsible for both activating new retail and restaurant customers, and managing existing customers. An important aspect of this role is independent market research and the qualification of new opportunities across all channels.

    A good vast network of contacts in retail and HORECA in this industry would be helpful

    The role is likely part-time. You'll get the flexibility to work both from home but some travel doing roadshows and visiting clients. Also the opportunity to visit our fishery partners around the world if you have an interest in this.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Drive the Company's vision and implement he sales strategy for the Chinese markets in close collaboration with the Commercial Director.
    • You will be required to exercise strategic thinking to prioritise channels, and specific accounts, and navigate between short & long-term strategic goals
    • Develop proposals and organise collateral to best match the potential customers' needs.
    • Attend all relevant retailer shows, presentations and demonstrations
    • Manage relationships with customers in order to support and develop the SAQUA products usage.
    • Assist the customers' marketing teams in the best way to convey the story of the SAQUA products.
    • To add value to your colleagues in terms of providing information to the wider company regarding your territory / customers etc.

    Key Skills Required

    • Chinses and English speaking - fluent at business level.
    • Approx. 3 years experience in the food industry, ideally in a sales capacity focusing on premium food products
    • Interest in the trends in the seafood category.
    • Some working knowledge of sustainable food systems, and aquaculture production versus wild catch methods would be goog to have
    • Ideally some understanding of the certification landscape such as MSC / ASC / BAP as it relates to internal retail standards and requirements
    • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations with potential Chinese
    • Advance user of Microsoft Office and G Suite
